it is interesting that you used the term eveolution, for that is exactly what it has been. Actually the space industry prompted the research and creation of better sensors and it just has taken time for it to trickle down to the consumer level.
I don’t believe Art had anything to do with the evolution itself, no more than film did over using paint and brush.
The megapixal story is only begun… there are cameras on the horizon that will deal in Terapixals instead of MP. and that time is not that far off. The technology already exists.
Photofraphy for arts sake will evolve even more in the next few years… it is so difficult to keep up..
